DESCRIPTION:
Main technical support for network implementation and architecture changes. Must be a self starter independent worker who can take a concept and bring it to fruition without a lot of direction.
What we are really looking for in individuals is at least 5 years of experience with the following skill sets:
- Cisco Router configurations (Cisco 2600, 3600, 7200 series routers), configurations with configuring routers from scratch for deployment.
- Cisco Router and Switch troubleshooting, must be able to troubleshoot router/switch problems and issues.
- Cisco Catalyst Switches (6500, 3550, 3500, 2950, 2900 series switches), configuring MSFC, using the Cat OS, configuring VLANS, configuring switch ports, switch security, trunking.
- Strong Firewall knowledge preferably Checkpoint, but more important just a strong understanding of Firewall terminology and troubleshooting.
- Strong Cisco routing protocols knowledge with EIGRP and BGP *Medium WAN knowledge of Frame Relay, PPP, configuring WIC cards, T3/DS3 cards, Serial cards, and controller cards.
- Medium experience with Cisco Access Points or general wireless knowledge is preferred but not strongly needed.
- Medium experience with Microsoft Solutions (2000/2003 Server, Active Directory, Microsoft used protocols and ports).
- Medium experience with VOIP preferred but not strongly needed.
- Strong self-project management skills and communication skills, because this individual will have to interact with multiple departments and I.T staff on numerous projects.
The main goal of this position is to have an individual that can work very much independently to complete job related tasks and projects, so their hands on experience and self management skills are very important to perform well.
